Kyouran Kazoku Nikki
« on: April 16, 2008, 09:19:41 PM »
You know that scene in Welcome to the NHK were Satou describes all the desired aspects of a moe character? And they end up with a really grotesque looking picture of all these characters in one? Well, the people behind Kyouran Kazoku Nikki did the same thing.

"Oi. What is popular nowadays?"
"Robots?"
"Cat Girls?"
"Lions?"
"Jellyfish?"
"Innocent Female students?"
"Leeron?"
"Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya God-characters?"
"Kyon clones with guns who are closet homophobes?"
"****. We don't have the budget to make shows about all of those things."
"Why don't we put them all together."
"BRILLIANT! And we'll make it a family drama!"
"You, sir, are a genius"

I feel like my ass has been shoved onto a fence. This show is not horrible. This show is not good. This show is almost an attempt at being mediocre, and it succeeds. The humor isn't that funny, but it could be. The animation isn't that good, but it can be. The story bent over to grab its angles before the OP began.

I will watch episode 2 for two reasons: ****ing Lions and Bad-ass-designed Robot
I fell off the wagon and now I can't stop.
