Yeah. I saw that.

I came.

But hey! Now we only have to wait four more years.

Nah, they've probably been working on it for at least a year, possibly two. I know a friend in the video game industry who works for THQ. He plays paintball with a number of Blizzard designers and execs, and he knows they've been developing the game for quite some time. In fact, Gamespot has a number of screenshots of actual game play.

Hmm, when this comes out, I might actually have a decent enough computer to play it on

Thanks to DarkKanti for the Sig!

You know how Blizzard is though, Tama. They always say they're going to release something (faaaar into development) and it takes them forever.

Or do you not remember Starcraft: Ghost? T____T

What Akira said.

Hopefully, they'll release it and it'll be motivation for my brother to buy a decent gaming PC.

The Marine video was pretty awesome, but the second video left a lot to be desired.
I fell off the wagon and now I can't stop.

Freaking.  Awesome.

I can't wait for this.  I might actually buy a new computer to celebrate.

Now, all I need is Diablo III...

Starcraft II: How Shadowmage got kicked out of college.

I recommend Mobile Suit, RX-0 and Unicorn from the Unicorn OST.

A few hours ago a gameplay video was released. It features demonstrations of many Protoss and Terran units, go check it out!

Any word on if the Xel'Naga are a playable faction?  I always figured they'd be in the next game after seeing the ending of Brood War.

My gosh, as if the Protoss weren't strong enough.  That hacked UFO better cost twelve shiny Battleships and about 40 population... Although Pylons seem a lot weaker in this game than the original.

I recommend Mobile Suit, RX-0 and Unicorn from the Unicorn OST.

Starcraft 2 has some similarities with Command and Conquer 3. Both of motherships. Both have "jet pack" units. Etc.

Fine by me. As of right now, SCII's visuals aren't impressing me one bit, since they currently seem more like a Warcraft III mod than anything.

Don't get me wrong; I'm not nearly stupid enough to believe that the graphics shown during a game's first announcement will carry on untouched to the day of its release. All I'm saying is that, as long as they actually release it, Blizzard can take as long as they want if it means turning the shiny play-doh graphics into grittier ones that reflect the overall feel of the original Starcraft.

KEKEKE LING RUSH!! ^___^

The Protoss may be strong as hell, but they're just as slow too.

I don't know about the way starcraft gaming world is running now but when I was in Korea few years ago, Terrans and Zergs were completely dominating professional leagues. I find Protoss hard to play since they cost wayy too much, don't really have that powerful force combination like marine+med+siege, guardian rush, kekeke rush, mass hydra, etc. And they can't expand mad like Zergs as well. And Carriers are out of question whenever there is a zerg involved bugger. Besides, if protoss are getting some make up, the terrans and zergs are too. And the first releases are technically beta versions, since, after professional matches they are going to release new patches to better balance the units and buildings.

I don't know.  Looking at the preview, it seems that the base Protoss units can quickly be built.  I don't know how expensive they are, but looking at their strength, they will probably be cheaper in this game than in the last. Although the Invinicibles massacre the good old "siege walls",  I'm sure the folks at Blizzard made Protoss more playable (In other words, cheaper).  Rarely do professional games become wars of attrition, but once you get resources, Protoss wins.  (Unless you have Terran... In which case a few Science Vessels can wreck havoc on even Carriers.)

However, looking at the previews, it seems that only the Protoss have received a massive facelift.  Don't get me wrong, I don't advocate destroying a system that works. (Lings, lisks or Marines, Medics), but I don't recognize most of the units of Protoss while the Zergs and Terrans feel familiar.  (I'm sure there will be more changes in the future.)

I recommend Mobile Suit, RX-0 and Unicorn from the Unicorn OST.
