Her voice is high, but not that high. What REALLY suprised me was Minoru Chihara's voice. It's.... I would say higher/at the same pitch as Goto's.

Goto-san did a lot of eroge and visual novels; as a result, all of us were going to bring in one of her games and have her sign it... and carefully study the looks of horror on her face >_>;;;

Oh I'm sure she'd be a good sport about that type of thing. You should have asked her to give one of her customary wails... I'm sure that would have gotten a raised eyebrow at best (or a fearful look at worst).

What was Hirano like?  I assume you would have met her as well.  From what I've heard, she has a pretty playful personality, not too dissimilar from some of the characters she plays.

First of all:

http://img114.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dscn1572oy0.jpg

Now to answer your question....

Unfortunately for them, they were unable to talk to us. They were rushed for time and had lots of things to sign, so they had to resort to signing generic posters (above) and not talking to fans. By the looks on their faces, they felt guilty that they couldn't talk to fans, and looked rather displeased with the arrangement. I will talk about that more in detail later.

During the QA panel, however, we did get Goto Yuko to do her wail.

Now, about Hirano:

She is quite playful. She's also extremely nice. She looked visibly distressed during the signing; it was quite clear she'd much rather interact with fans than do an "assembly line."

The rule was "no talking or interaction", right?

Well, Hirano-san was last; Goto and Chiharu-san had already signed my poster. I said the usual to them, you know, "Arigatou", "Ganbatte". Then, I looked at Hirano-san, and I thought, "Hey, this is gonna be a once in a lifetime chance. If I get thrown out for this, it'll be worth it." So while she was signing, I leaned in close to her and whispered:

"Timotei."

And she looked at me, tilted her head, stroked her hair, and said, "Timotei~~~~~"

...that made my con, right there. I win.

It was... but I still felt bad for her and the others.... they really didn't look like they were having fun at all.

I've been reading reports (on ANN) that the convention was poorly organized and executed and many of the guests didn't get fantastic treatment... some even being completely shafted.  What was the general feeling on the floor among attendees?

Alright, I think you'll all kill me for this, but...

For most of the con, at least, at the important times, I held a press badge.

On the last day, I had an exhibitor's badge... ;_;

So, in terms of logistics, I got it reallllly easy. I just flashed a badge and was let in.

HOWEVER:

I heard from the fangirls that the SKIN concert went really badly, that sometimes, the mic wasn't working, and the four guys had to shout and scream just to be heard...

That, and the SOS invasion tour SUCKED. ...like, it just BLEW. I think that was the main reason why the three were so unhappy. But more on that later.

It's AX. Logistics always fails at AX. As a press memeber, I didn't have to deal with that, but I'd imagine most people were extremely pissed.

Ironically, the tour was the WORST part of the con. I managed to get some other autographs, from other guests who obviously enjoyed their time there a little more than the three girls.

I'm not sure that you technically can, since you weren't representing us as a member of the press.  Check out the technicalities and permissions of that before you begin, and just draw from the same sort of format and tone as Kurier's reports.

By the way, don't be afraid to be critical, since, from what I've heard, it really sounds like AX deserves a slam.

Edit:  If it turns out that you can't write an official thing, post about it on the blog if you wish.

Alright then...

I'll just do a blog post. It's going to be REALLLLY freakin' long though.

And then maybe we could just port it to the main site *shrug*

Checked the site.  I guess, since they only offered press passes to print media organizations and online magazines, then we can put your report on the main page.

I'm definitely going next year~!

This year it's getting moved to the Los Angeles Convention Center. But I still plan to go out and spend a week or two visiting family and friends.

And I'm a dumbass. I can get hotel discounts through my work, I don't know why I never thought of that ⌐_⌐

Tamashii: Press Pass? Couple friends of mine work for a news site. Whenever I needed something and they were just hanging around they'd just give me their pass and I'd walk around as a press member.
