Dragon Zakura, anyone?
« on: February 18, 2007, 08:46:16 AM »
Anyone seen Dragon Zakura? I thought it was great.

Basically, a huge spin on the GTO premise (again..)...

A lawyer's sent in to inform the school that the bank will be closing the school due to outstanding debts. However, he has a personal problem: he can't get any clients because he used to be a gangster. In a risky move, he decides to take five of the school's students (which are all ridiculously stupid) and get them into Tokyo University.

This series is actually educational; I learned craploads on how to time-manage and test-taking strategies. XD;;;;

Staring Hiroshi Abe and Kyoko Hasegawa. (<333)

I think I've vaguely heard of this one in passing, somewhere, but I've never seen it.

Maybe I should watch it.  I could stand to learn a little more about time management.... -_-'  And I like Hiroshi Abe.  I'll put this one on the list.

Considering that I don't you've never suggested crap, I'll check this out. Haven't watched any dorama since Densha Otoko so I think it is about time.

There are two things that haven't happened to me in a VERY long time while watching a series of any sort.

1) I've put everything else aside to watch it.
2) I've cried.

Dragon Zakura is amazing, hands down. The characters are all likable and they will grow on you. The plot is solid and very realistic. As of today, Favorite Japanese drama.

All of you who are just sitting around watching anime, press pause. Open up BT, look for this. Get it. Watch it.

Hmm, it's like GTO?  Something tells me I shouldn't watch this at the same time as Gokusen then.  It'd be major overkill, wouldn't it?
