The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi novels
« on: December 12, 2006, 12:57:09 AM »
Since it looks like we're the unofficial home of Haruhi fanboy-ism...

Seriously, if there are any people not reading these:
First three volumes in pdf: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=UKJN4XDP
Full text wiki: http://project.baka-tsuki.net/index.php?title=Suzumiya_Haruhi

I've just started reading the first volume and it's incredible.

I keep meaning to read them, but I never have the time.  Maybe sometime after the New Year I'll get some time, and I'll read them then.

I plan on reading them, but when I heard a season 2 of Haruhi was rumored for Fall '07, I thought I'd wait and see what became of that before I dove into the novels.  I may change my  mind, but it's not like I have a shortage of things to watch/read.

That exact thought did cross my mind as well, but when I started reading volume 1, I couldn't put it down.  Not that I've read anything 'new' so far, except for the Itsuki introduction scene which was animated for DVD only.  (As soon as I read that, I went and watched that scene on youtube, but I won't post the link here since the video didn't sync with the audio, which really irked me).  I think what I'll probably do is read what's currently translated, and stop there, which, hopefully, won't spoil the next season too much.

I'll be reading this if it gets me into it, nearly finished Murakimi's Norwegian Wood, although I liked Kafka better. I have way too much time on my hand this holiday and somehow reading and catching upto my piano pieces is what I do most these days. And from what I hear, novels are better than anime, so banzai!
