Wii
« on: November 15, 2006, 11:29:08 PM »
The Wii needs a thread, and seeing as I am going to be putting 12-18 hours into waiting in line for the Wii, I figured I'd start it.

Went to go stake out Walmart today (mainly to see where I am going to have to line up, using the PS3 buyers as a guide). Looks like it is going to be a fun wait, especially with the wonderful weather we are having.

Red Steel was on sale and so were the Wii-mote and Numchuck. After going back home to get cash to buy all three of those, I returned and tried to buy them. Unfortunately, some stupid stock-person put up the Wii-mote and Numchucks prematurally, so we weren't allowed to purchase them. But, I got Red Steel. Now I can stare at it for 3 days.

Anyone else getting the Wii or going to get the Wii eventually?
I fell off the wagon and now I can't stop.

I'll be waiting outside of a BestBuy for one.  I tried preordering, but they ran out everywhere in like 15 minutes.

I will not buy a new system until it is two years old and doesn't cost an absolute fortune.

I won't buy a new system until I see games that I really want to play, which will probably be a while, since I've pretty much, well, grown out of gaming.  Last game I ever played was DotA, and I quit that months ago.

If I do buy a new gen console, it'll most likely be a Wii, since I grew up as a Nintendo fanboy.  Maybe if/when the new Zelda game comes out.

Zelda: Twilight Princess is a launch title, SK. And the Wii costs reletivally little compared to the other two current-gen (which was next-gen, but is current now) consoles.

When are you going to line up DK (time, date)?

I see.  Shows how completely out of touch I am with gaming.

I'd have to be re-bitten by the gaming bug before I consider it.  I'm not even sure when the Wii gets released in Aus.

Of all the next-generation consoles, the one that I'm most likely to get is the Wii. However, even with that being the case, I probably won't be getting it for a while because of the price; even though it's lower than the other consoles it's still $250 that I don't have, plus the accessories.

Also, for the longest time I just haven't been able to "get" into gaming; I'm rather apathetic to the whole thing right now.

I'm eventually going to get a Wii, I just don't have the $250 right now.  I'm going to go to a friends house on Sunday after he gets his Wii.  Should be a blast.  I'm really looking forward to SSB: Brawl.

I refuse to pay big bucks for a PS3 or XBox.  $300 is my limit on what I'll spend on a system.

I'll get myself a Wii.... in about 5 years. I like to collect consoles (and old electronics in general... ask me how many remote controls and televisions I have in storage >.>) so I typically wait until a generation releases and then I buy the previous generations for low prices. I think I paid 25 dollars for my N64 (I bought that in 2001) and maybe 50 for a NES (but that was eBay... so whatever)

Anyway... tell me how it is.

I'll definitely get a Wii, because I've been waiting for Twilight Princess for years. Unfortunately, I'll just have to wait a year to get the system, though. :(

15 1/2 Hours in line = worth it.

The Wii is an amazing machine. Smooth, fun and intovative.

Zelda = Win x gold x Link

WiiSports; I got my father to play a video game. He hasn't played a video game since the handheld football game thingies.

Go, get one now.

HEY! I think I figured out this Wii Address thing.

In Mail, you can add Contacts to your address book. You do this by adding their Wii Address.

My Wii Address is 8393 6668 4756 7754

Add me~

I'm considering buying one. The reasons I'm not considering any other systems are that 1.) The Wii is cheaper 2.) The Wii has awesome and 3.) BOWLING ON MY TV.

My friend and his sister stood outside Best Buy last Saturday night for a restocked Wii. He also nabbed the last copy of Twilight Princess and still hasn't touched it. The controller is completely badass, and the graphics are quite nice.

Also, the thing is so white, he couldn't tell where I spooged on it.

I lol'd.

Yeah, I got a Wii on Tuesday and I just dowloaded the browser this morning.  My roomate and I have been playing Wii Sports and Rayman non-stop and we are sore all over.

My only beef with the browser is that I couldn't find a zoom function on it and my TV is too small to read some stuff.

My Wii browses the web better than my computer to a certain extent. Youtube works without any problems. And I'm using the Internet Channel right now.

/me bows towards nintendo.

Also, + and - are the zoom keys. 4chan runs smoothly too!

Sounds great, guys, but World of Warcraft's expansion is six days away. Amazing how one ****ing game has stolen me from playing any other thing, though actually I might play Oblivion when my new computer gets set up.
