Death Note: The Last Name

The trailer for the second movie looks pretty good.  I still haven't found a torrent for the first movie yet though.   :(

From the looks of the trailer, the first movie made it through about three or four volumes of the manga.  I can't wait to see these.

The first movie was good, so I don't see why this one would be any different. I'm pretty sure they filmed them in succession, and I love the cast. I'm TO'ed that it is being released in November, but maybe I will be able to snag the DVDs this summer.

You're right DK, however they cover those volumes with some major points rearranged or missing.
I fell off the wagon and now I can't stop.

I'm more excited about the Death Note anime that Madhouse is making.  Favorite manga + Favorite studio can only be amazing.

And then you need to PM me, dheu.

I was just looking at some of the trailers for the first movie on youtube the other day.  It looks really good.  I didn't even know there was a second movie until now though.  :o

Holy crap.

I've just spoiled myself and found out how the second movie ends, but I don't care.

I need to see the two movies, NOW.

I curse my non-fluency, which places movies like this - in other words, dialogue-driven - outside of my capability for understanding.

A non-spoiling spoiler so you'll understand my excitement: All I will say is that the second movie ends how the manga should have ended.

Damn, damn, damn.

I'm tempted to just download the raw and suck it up through the dialogue.

That is if you can find the raw (and if you can, PM me).

If I'm catching the hint you are hinting towards, the ending of the movie must be pretty good. That, or it is fan induced and fueled by yaoi-parodies and moralists.

Yaoi-parodies? Que?

Quote from: Spoiler for Death Note 2
All I'm talking about is the satisfaction of L beating Light instead of dying halfway through the story.

God, I hated that in the manga. All that build-up and awesome mental battling between the two, and he dies.

I'm absolutely thrilled to see that there's a version in which he doesn't.

And I meant the raw for the (shortened wryyy  television version of the) first movie, which I haven't seen yet. The second movie's raw isn't out yet by a long shot.

Make sure you get the good one. There is one sub (the first that was released) that blew really really bad. The second one is really good.

I must say the movies were pretty good, though i only wish they were able to include more from the anime/manga plot and not squash like two to three seasons into the first one.
