I've just started reading Zombie Powder too, and I'm already sold on it. I'm looking forward to the next volume for it.

Favorite manga-kas, eh?  Hmmm....

Well, I've gotta say Naoki Urasawa.  I've only read four volumes of Monster, so maybe it's a tad premature... but those four volumes have been so gripping that it's easily the manga I anticipate the most.

Next, I guess would be the Riichiro Inagaki - Yusuke Murata duo.  Eyeshield 21 is pure sports comedy gold.

For shoujo, Kyoko Hikawa wins.  From Far Away is my favorite shoujo-fantasy manga ever, with strong characters, good fantasy elements, angst, and bishonen.

Fuyumi Soryo also needs to go in here.  Mars was enjoyable, but she's really hooked me with ES, which from what I've read is a promising series.

Matsuri Akino definitely has to go in here, for her manga Petshop of Horrors and Genju no Seiza.

And Hiroaki Samura too!  Who can't help but love Blade of the Immortal!

On zombie powder: If you have read 4 volumes, you can stop waiting, there are no more.

On Monster and Urasawa: You are actually a little bit too late. Usually people say that Urasawa rocks after volume 1 of any of his titles.

Well, I didn't want to jump the gun or anything.... -_-

As for Zombie Powder, I've only read one volume.  There are only four total?  Please tell me that it's a good, complete storyline.

Well, it's a good incomplete storyline.  :D

Sigh.

I guess a neatly wrapped up storyline was just too much to hope for.

My personal favorites:

Kozue Amano - ARIA series. Beautiful artwork, compelling characters, and the mystery of whether this person is male or female just adds up.

Kiyohiko Azuma - Azumanga was funny, but in Yotsubato, he realllly shows his drawing skills. I am impressed.
I don't have opinions. I have facts.

Naoko Takeuchi - The Sailormoon anime may be mediocre, but the manga shines gold.
Kia Asamiya - I'm a fangirl for Silent Mobius, what can I say?
Mazakazu Katsura - He doesn't get enough love these days. *sniff* Shadow Lady is one of my favourite manga of all time.
Kosuke Fujishima - Most amazingly consistant detailed artwork I know of.
Ai Yazawa - Stylized art for the win. She's amazing.
Usumaru Furuya - Very few things can make me laugh as much as Short Cuts did.

Osamu Tezuka. Because his art is so lively and expressive.

Seriously, where is the love for good ol' Tezuka??
I like Black Jack, Soreike! Anpanman, Princess Jellyfish, Hakaba Kitarou, Azumanga Daioh, Urusei Yatsura, GeGeGe no Kitarou, Monster, Death Note, and so far Paranoia Agent. Yarr.

Tezuka is good, but the idea of him being the "God of Manga" seems a bit overrated to me.

That said, I like Seo Kouji's stuff. Suzuka, Cross-Game, KimiMachi. Drawings as spectacular, even if the stories are a bit too generic shounen sometimes.
