Latino Music

This is a "recommendation" thread.

So why not to start with Shakira?

I'm very fond of her most recent album Fijacion Oral 1. Though it strays away from most of the Latino feel that some of her songs in her previous albums had, it does have some great tracks. Most of these tracks are ballads, some with an almost nostalgic, enlightened feel. I recommend Dia de Enero (January Day), En Tus Pupilas (In Your Eyes), and Obtener un Si (Obtain a Yes)--but of course, I'd appreciate it if you listened to the whole album, from start to finish.

I don't know much about Latino music, but I did like the one English CD Shakira has out (Laundry Service).  I didn't know she had other CDs,  I'll have to look for them.

Meh, the only one I've got is "A Dios Le Pido" by Juanes. I like it. One of my classmates says he's got better songs, though.

Well, to nitpick, Shakira is Colombian, not Latina. But yeh, I get what you're saying. :p

Kinda cliche, but Selena. Sure, she's dead and all, but her music was all right. Earlier stuff is kinda better than her later stuff, but most of it is listen-able, or however you say it. I like that one song, Si Una Vez. And a few others that I can't remember right now.

If I think of any other music artists, I'll edit/re-post.

Columbia has Latino roots and they speak Spanish. Latino music refers to Spanish-spoken music, so Shakira fits! :D
