As the thread title says,

Has there ever been a boss that you have ever felt sorry for after you're pounded them into the ground?

Personally i felt sorry for the final boss in Tales of Symphonia, in which his final words were "all i ever wanted was a world for my sister and me"

Numerous bosses from Metal Gear Solid 3 gained my sympathy, especially Revolver Ocelot and Boss, they're just too cool.

Final boss of Xenosaga II. My girlfriend is going to be in tears when she gets that far.

Ray and Ganer from Breath of Fire II also drew my sympathy.

The final boss in TOS was a tear-jerker because of Mona Marshall's dialouge that went along with it. One boss I really felt sorry for was 'Evrae Aquatic' in FFX because it took me two turns to beat him.

metaknight and king dododo (i think that's his name) from kirby's nightmare in dreamland because metaknight was just following orders and king dododo was just trying to protect his kingdom from the evil knightmare yet kirby still kicks their arses

I really hated killing Sephiroth in FFVII. He was way awesome.

I know what you mean. I liked Sephiroth too. I know a guy who will really disagree with us though.

That poor girl who gets turned into a medusa in the old Mystic Quest (Final Fantasy Legend). You have to kill her to get her tears, which are the only thing that can save her brother. That was the only time a Gameboy game really managed to impress me.

I'd say Death's Hand from Jade Empire. He was killed by his brother and brought back just to be his servant. But you eventually got to free him at the end.

I felt sorry for the baby bosses because they are weak and easy to beat.

I felt kind of bad while fighting the dark prince in La Pucelle. His past actions are bad, but I can still feel for why he is the way he is.
