Hakumei to Mikochi

Girl's Last Tour meet Hollywood's Downsizing? The dynamic between Hakumei and  Mikochi is too similar to Yuu chan and Chi chan.  Somehow, I cannot help to shake the feeling that this is a rehash of Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou.
I think is about girls friendship rather than advenure.

As much as I wanted to be immersed, the paneling and short cuts kept disrupting the mood. So while it isn't itself bad, I feel it could have been more. Having said that, the overall tone and premise is just so inviting I can't refuse.

Coming to this from the delightful manga, I have to agree with Zeitgeist on the matter of those awkward panel shots and frequent cuts. Also a bit irked by how they've rendered some of the humorous bits, what with the anime-standard comedic sound effects and exaggerated manzai. I was hoping for something all-round more low-key, but I'm overjoyed that we got an adaptation at all. Didn't expect one in a million years.

Marred atmosphere or not, I'm delighted with what they've done to breathe life into the valley of Makinata. The understated worldbuilding of the manga in all its effortless rustic elegance is something to savor, and I'm confident from what I've seen that this adaptation can capture it.

Well that is certainly good to hear. Even if I'm somewhat opposed to the comedic tone, it was always the world that was going to keep my interest.

Hmm, cute.

A show for Type B viewers. I can dig.

I'll stay on.
