Yui basically came down to becoming a tsundere, and this whole Japanese-American stereotyping is just a farce. Worse, this tsundere personality got the better of her while in training sims as well.

Hurr, what a disappointment.

Can't give up now, we're at ep 7 of 24 (or 26, not sure it's official the exact number yet).  There's so much left to rant about! :)

More portrayal of conflict between humans in a war, don't mind it too much but come on... just because your a good front line pilot shouldn't mean you could go to those lengths. My basic understanding of it was that the group that left the front lines and retreated are being referred to as 'Russians', while the other minority groups(?) were left to defend the front lines... I really felt that the first two episodes lessened the impact of Yui's past when she was talking to Yuuya. Well there's progress and promise of action now, it'll at least take my mind off the past few episodes.

Not sure if I should be sharing this but this website has a few comparisons to the LN as well as a bit of background info on MLA:TE. Its interesting for me as I don't know Japanese, or I would've checked out the novels already. http://type94.wordpress.com/

You know, there is a problem when your anime looks like it was made in 2000 instead of 2012. The budget for this is AWFUL.

More interesting than the last couple episodes, but the horrible budget is killing this show (Well that and the beach episodes...).

I think I just about lost my shit when the eishi were stomping on Cryska yet the sound was as if she was getting full on kicked. The sound didn't even match with the animation of what was going on. I mean holy shit, is this for real?

Even the fanservice is awfully animated! I mean, just look at Cryska's thong/swimsuit distortions in episode 7! What the hell was happening there? If we're getting fanservice, at least do it decently.

You know what, I never really paid attention to the visual details...

Me either.  Considering all the things I already had to bitch about, shitty animation was something I wasn't going to worry about.

I really hope this goes like unlimited to alternative did (though even that was handled better). First visual novel being rather harem-ish and second half being much darker and mature. I can only hope really, but so far it's been kind of a cliche rush job (even unlimited wasn't like this).

So far it reminds me of the Valkyria Chronicles anime....

I've been pretty lenient on this for a while, but after episode seven, this show has clearly become an experiment to see how many senses it can offend. It's already taken my eyesight, hearing, and cognitive abilities! If this show can insult my tastes or induce physical pain, we may just have a winner!

I'm starting to feel that the first 2 episodes are horrendously out of place. Even when fighting the beta it's pretty light-hearted and cheezy in comparison.

Okay, time for a bit of fair praise.  The whole point in the battle leading up to the using of the railgun was well done, and the railgun itself is actually a step in the right direction for the human race's survival.  The intrigue with the Russians was stupid in a lot of ways, but I'll let it go this time.

More bad:  holy crap those ships / boats were crudely animated.

Did I say this looked like an anime made in 2000? I'm deeply sorry, that's an insult to anime in 2000 :(:

Once again, I didn't really pay attention to the visual details. I'm just not the kind who does anyway, unless it's really that horrible or that wonderful. If anything, it's just mediocre to me. As for the story itself... what's the deal with the Scarlet Twins? Seriously, what's their story...?
