Amagami SS Plus

Tachibana you douchebag; you've fallen for the oldest trick in the book. But hey, this is Tachibana we're talking about here: chances are, his brain is in his wang. I won't take this show seriously; why would I when the previous season has taught me that this show's pretty putty? All I want to see more is Morishima bimboness and Takahashi-sensei. Especially the latter.

Hello Amagami SS, we meet again. The aesthetics look great, just like its prequel. Unfortunately, the first episode was quite painful to watch - I keep reminding myself to stop taking the show seriously, yet my subconscious always seem to betray me. The school council elections are serious business as usual, and the plot still feels forced and predictable as it can get. I mean really, I'd much prefer something that's based on the characters' interactions rather than plot-driven with half-assed attempts at drama. Sure, given that Tachibana has a charisma of a cardboard it's still probably going to be boring as hell, but at least that's a less painful way to live through the episode. And this is only Ayatsuji, who had one of the more tolerable arcs in the prequel...

...God help me when we get to Sae's arc.

Ep 1

How you describe Amagami?  It's like, so ****ing pretty.  Those character designs.  Oh.  It's kinda like mental fapping.

I mean, we can poke all sorts of holes through the plot, and the ridiculousness of the electioneering going on here.  I particularly like when they propose perfectly reasonable responses to Kurosawa... and then they go and don't[ do those things.  But that's not what this show is about.  It's all about the cocktease... the very faintly obscured erotic situations like the one where Junichi got Ayatsuji to do a very arousing photo shoot.  I mean, let's face it, there's no way Junichi could conduct himself sensibly during an election... all he thinks about are boobs.

So yeah, don't take it seriously.  It's not meant to be taken seriously.

I found myself bored and decided just to go watch this. My thoughts were: "Season 1 wasn't that bad/stupid/awkward right?"
I'm once again surprised how wrong this show feels, tachibana getting ordered around like a lapdog again, and the spineless wimp doesn't do shit.
It's like watching School days, without the cool gory ending...

Y'know what?  This one episode was better than the entire first season combined.  Not sure why, maybe it's the lack of focusing on Tachibana being a fetishist and actually giving Ayatsuji something to do that doesn't necessarily require her boyfriend's help.  Hell, if the worst thing Tachibana did in this episode is come up with a poster idea for the campaign, I think we're doing ok.  Sure, he tried to turn it into a "pretend erotic photo shoot", but that's probably one of the more normal things he's done.  Hormonal teenage boy + camera + good looking chick following your instructions?  Any kid, somewhere along that line, would slip in a random "okay, take off your top" comment... y'know just to see if it might work.  You could always quickly play it off as a joke.  Then again, she might go along with it.  You never know until you ask.

Yes! God yes! This season is way too awesome. This, Saito and Louise, AND Natsume all in one season? I think I am in heaven.

Good news: Good to see this series getting a sequel. Some main heroines didn't have that good ending especially Rihoko.

Bad news: Stupid decision to put epilogues on both Tsukasa and Haruka in the 1st season. They could've been put down here in this sequel.

Nothing new with this sequel after all... except with Junichi's stupidity.

Aww man, had Ayatsuji kicked Tachibana in the balls, it would've been epic. Too bad: Aya's too smart (well, it's not that; it's just that Tachibana's the one who's dumb) to blame him for that. He's an idiot, after all.

Have to say, the kiss scene in the bathroom was pretty sweet.

It could be that I just like Ayatsuji more than some of the other girls, but I thought this was an okay episode, too.  Not much for the tension.  I mean, the results were too damned predictable and Tachibana was a useles plot device, so I never thought there was really any substance to the Ayatsuji v. Kurosawa thing.  Humorous that the whole thing did indeed end up being a battle between women for a man instead of about politics.  But only humorous in a derpy kind of way.

For a while there, I swear they ****ed.  "Just one kiss is enough for you?" is kind of a rather suggestive phrase.  Toss in the "up late" thing and Tachibana's reactions to Rihoko's prodding questions and... well... I just figured things was obvious.  Of course they didn't, and probably never will, because for some reason nobody can get laid in these kinds of shows.  That would upset the legions of faggot fans who worship their 2D waifus.  I don't know why they just don't declare that the MC is a eunich.  Might save me some time wondering about this crap and would save all those nerds' stomachs from ulcers.

Oh great, next sequence is the Friend Zoned Hollywood Ugly Girl.  Maybe the'll make up for that ****ing stupid ending before.  Might be the only reason to actually watch this second series:  justice for Rihoko.

YES!  YES YES YES!  This is what I missed!  This is the feeling!  This is what Amagami SS is all about!

The PAIN is back!

Oh Junichi!  You pathetic waste of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and other elements!  Your presence in this episode was barely required!  But while you're here, would you be a dear and do something perverted for the crowd?  That's my boy!  Yes, we've all known that, in every arc, you're just one fleshy bag of raging hormones, quick to bust out any fetish you can think of, but we did not know that you were such a deviant at a young age!  My goodness, this means that playing doctor would be beneath you as too "mainstream".

So perhaps I was enjoying that last segment a bit too much.  Why you ask?  WHY?!  Because NTR is, sometimes, well.... JUST DESSERTS...!  Oh Rihoko, why didn't you accept that young man's penis right there in front of Junichi?  The tears would have been glorious!  Friend zoning you in the first series gave you all the ammunition in the world to wear your slutty garb and get rammed by some other man.  Well, boy.  You know what I mean!  Ample plot device is what we should call him!  He became my hero in a matter of seconds!

But we all know how this is going to break out.  The next episode will be all about jealousy and whatnot and Junichi will eventually find out that Rihoko's Hollywood Ugliness is still hotter than half the universe's real life.  Dare I say it but perhaps the creative minds will fix their mistake?  Maybe!  I still like the idea of Rihoko doing some other guy in a back alley somewhere.  That's just awesome!

DOUJINS!  BRING ON THE DOUJINS!  MAKE IT HAPPEN JAPAN!

...okay, so why was Junichi disappointed to lose to Rihoko in chest size back when they were kids? I know that he wanted to check out her measurement because he was "curious" (right?) but, what, he wanted to have man-boobs in order to win it? That's disturbingly wrong. Or maybe he's not just dumb; he's been dumb all his life.

OH JUNICHI~

Why is Junichi so MAN in the Rihoko arc, but a dumbass in others? I know how people behave differently around others, but there's a big difference between the Junichi who talks and acts normally, and the Junichi who thinks of perverted stuff in the most random of moments. But I have to say: the ending there is pretty sweet. Hence, I think the Rihoko arc is the best not because it's well-written but but only because it's the most realistic and least anal when compared to other arcs.

Oh I can imagine people going crazy when Miya went sleepwalking and almost used Junichi's bedroom as the toilet. Her antics never fail to entertain.

We must have watched different episodes because I thought that sucked.  As far as romance goes, it was just so unremarkable.  Childhood friends getting together?  Big deal.  There wasn't anything else to the episode other than that.

Miya was the only entertaining thing about this episode, so her presence was like a blessing.

Edit: Oh yeah, and the other thing, Junichi only made a move because he thought Rihiko was going to be NTR'd.  That doesn't exactly make him a noble romantic.

That was a pretty damn severe case of sleepwalking if you ask me.

About the episode itself, I didn't see much happening other than Rihoko making food for Junchi & Miya, the 'romantically' (?) awkward moments, the ending... and the obligatory Morishima cameo. Sure, Junichi is a tad more tolerable and Rihoko's arc is generally less cringeworthy than the others', but everything else seemed to be either too irrelevant and/or unmemorable for me to remember.

Ep 5

Holy shit. That might have been the worst episode of Amagami ever.  That was just infuriatingly inane, stupid and cringeworthy on some many levels.

The lullaby scene was so embarrassingly cringeworthy, my brain almost collapsed on itself.  Then there was the horribly contrived stupidity that lead to Junichi having to go to cram school camp, followed by the scene where he was taken away in a van.  Because that's what every cram school does in Japan, right.

As for all the stuff about Ai being lonely... well, who cares?  It pretty much fell into the background compared with all the stupidity that was taking place around her.  Oh yeah, the swim club scene was pretty bad too.
