Nintendo 3DS
« on: August 17, 2011, 08:47:08 PM »

I know that it'll be a while before this takes off since there are no real good games for it out yet except Ocarina of Time, but I know this will be huge once the quality titles start rolling out. Let's share our FCs in this thread and hopefully play some games together (when I'm not the only person who has one, of course)!

Name: Ming
Region: Australia (PAL)
FC: 4210 - 4163 - 5476

(I think I'll be alone here for a while...)

I'm a self admitted giant Nintendo fanboy, but not really a big handheld person.  I'll look to pick one of these up, but not in the short term while the only the game out that appeals to me is Ocarina of Time.

What about when the new Mario 3D platformer and Mario Kart comes out this holiday season?

3DS actually doesn't work for me. I have a lazy eye so my brain permanently sees two images no matter what. The optometrist doesn't even know if this can be corrected anymore with surgery.

Long story short, I can't see 3D with the 3DS. XD

Woah, that's the first time I've heard the 3DS not working. xD Does this problem affect you in other daily activities?

Having a 3DS means less time playing Starcraft 2.

Though in all seriousness, I'm not sure I want one since my Ipod Touch has a decent enough library to keep me happy.  I'll probably consider buying the 3DS on its second iteration (Lite?) when there are more games and a cheaper system.

I recommend Mobile Suit, RX-0 and Unicorn from the Unicorn OST.

Yeah, it's technically illegal for me to drive without my glasses because of my eyesight. That, and I don't have depth perception so I can't play sports very well.

Look what just arrived.  ;D

Been playing for an hour now. I have to say, 3D is awesome. It really does add depth to the visuals. Simply put, it looks stunning. It really can't be described unless you play the game yourself.

This might be of interest to some.

It also features another internet personality who cannot see in 3D because of an issue with his eyes.

"Nintendo keeps doing stupid things"

Weird. The videos is more stupid than anything Nintendo has done since the Virtual Boy.

The 3D is certainly a gimmick and not really necessary, but why complain for what's already there? The 3DS is fine. Nintendo just needs to get some quality titles out and everything will be good.  The only thing in that video which made any sense was the capacitive touch screen issue, which I agree to.

Never have I been happier to wait for the second iteration of a device.

I recommend Mobile Suit, RX-0 and Unicorn from the Unicorn OST.

But why do I need that when I have no interest in Monster Hunter?

Dunno.  There may be a must-have shooter down the line that makess it worthwhile.  Also, it'll probably be used to control the camera for other games.

I recommend Mobile Suit, RX-0 and Unicorn from the Unicorn OST.

Didn't buy the 3DS for shooters, since the PSV is a better choice for that. I got the 3DS for Nintendo titles...
