Oniichan no Koto
« on: January 08, 2011, 07:51:47 PM »

The last thing I wanted to hear from this show takes place only after 10 seconds. From then on, I expected only siscon shit. True enough, that's what happened. Seriously, this show is dumb because I don't know how to really take this show. I'm getting very weird vibes from Oniichan no Koto; feels like what OreImo could've been, what KissxSis would be minus a twin sister and ecchi, Yosuga with less pr0n, and Seitokai Yakuindomo with siscon elements.

Gags that are more misses than hits, senseless dialogue and even lame drama (she just realized that you're adopted and the first thing she thinks about is her relationship with her brother? Yo' real mom and dad are dead, bitch!)

I feel like handing this the Anime Razzie for worst anime of the season already, along with Seitokai Yakuindomo, Asobi ni Iku yo and MM! of past seasons.

I ranted to Akira on irc about this latest trend on sis-con. KissxSis, Yosuga, OreImo (this misled us, for better or worse) and now this. A new niche theme in anime? If it is, I'm losing faith in anime already.

A group of us, including kadian1364 and myself watched this during a SCCSAV session.  Needless to say, I won't be watching again.

I was just shaking my head throughout the whole thing.

What's the punchline?  I mean... this is supposed to be funny, right?  Right?

Right?

Also... those socks of hers have some seriously tight elastic... I'd check the circulation of her toes if I were her.

I'm amazed at how many of the NHRV guys would jump headlong into something that's quite obviously crap from the synopsis alone. Where do you guys find the time to waste?  :D

Needless to say, I didn't even bother watching it.

I've read the manga. The plot thickens a bit but it's still mostly trash. Don't bother unless 1.) you're really into these things or 2.) you have too much spare time.

I wouldn't have watched it if there wasn't an SCCSAV session on it.  Shows like this can be fun to pan in groups.

Oh yeah, another thing I forgot to mention about it: how awful are the character designs?  I mean, seriously, if you want to make a terrible fanservice show, can you at least make the chicks nice to look at?  These were just terrible.

They're definitely unique... some very long and thin limbs these people have.  Actually, looking at it, there almost seems to be a weird disjointing between what they want to depict these characters as age wise and what we're being shown.  They're supposed to be 14ish, but they have the limb development of a full blown adult, at least lengthwise (nobody has any thickness to them at all).  Couple that with the obviously youngish features for Nao (breasts, very lithe body type, but has a butt and some thickish looking thighs, etc), youngish looking facial features on all characters including the adults, dumbo-sized ears, and it is just very strange.

They're... bizarre.

EVERYTHING about this show is horrible. Characters: Annoying. Character Design: Look like anorexics. Plot: Kiss X Sis, without the other sister, yet somehow even worse.

I'm getting very weird vibes from Oniichan no Koto; feels like Seitokai Yakuindomo with siscon elements

What? This isn't like Seitokai Yakuindomo, only to the extent that sex jokes are made. I know you (AC) didn't like it, but please don't insult it to the extent of comparing it to this. I feel insulted as someone who enjoyed the show.

OH GODDAMN IT JAPAN, WHY DO YOU DO THIS?

WHY?!?!?!?!?

I already like it much better than it's manga incarnation.
Had me laughing much of the time. It sure is dumb, but the way it's presented really works (at least for me).
That most of the fanservice is purposefully created by the girl involved is a nice change from most other shows of this kind. And that other show I remember doing this didn't really make use of it.

Probably only enjoyable if you like the genre and (maybe or) are not sober, though.
As for why: The same reason there is scat porn. There are people that like it, hence it sells.
Actually, it reminds me of the in-between parts without sex in eromanga.

yeah this show is just Kissxsis with worse execution. I'd think the whole super-perverted-girl thing was more original if B Gata H Kei didn't just do it.

Either this show suddenly got way worse, or watching it sober really doesn't work.
Whichever it is, the male lead is starting to heavily get on my nerves. You collect a ****ING HUGE AMOUNT OF PORN and FAP 5 TIMES A DAY, but if you suddenly get the chance to actually ACT ON YOUR FANTASIES, you get impotent. I know there's a shitload of people like that, but damn, meeting them in real life is enough. Drawing it doesn't suddenly make it more amusing or tolerable. :/

Episode 1-2

I love this type of genre and even I’m appalled by this.

Yeah, no reason to write anything about the last few episodes, and probably no reason to write about this one either.  What I find odd about this show is how not important the little sister has become.  She's basically around to drop a weird line or two while everything else is just happening around her.

I'm not sure who it is, but someone said something along the lines of how this show would suck even if she wasn't his little sister (or whatever).  Seems to be holding true.  If the only hook this actually has is some pseudo-incest fetishist crap, then it has nothing (because she's not even his blood relative).

Dropping this pile of shit.  I gave it seven episodes and it has done zilch to convince me it is even remotely interesting.  It's not even funny in it's rawnch, and if you can't even do rawnchy comedy right, well Jesus, what else do you got?

The only thing I want to point out is that GotWoot's release of this replaced the intro song and exit song with "What is Love?" by Haddaway and "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga respectively and... well it kinda helped make the intro and exit worth watching, but did nothing for the show itself.  Nice try fellas.  I know the intro and exit are shit songs, believe me, and I appreciate the effort, but yeah, can't polish a turd, even if Mythbusters proved you could.

Indeed as TIF said this show really is shit, I just happened to watch it until episode 7 because I was bored, this show is terrible and even though it comes off as an ecchi show it doesn't even provide it, all I see are these stupid pictures of birds or something? It is completely the opposite of Freeze, you can't see shit! I'm dropping this from now on, I got some gaming to catch up.
