The Illusionist

THIS IS GOING TO BE SO GOOD!

Films about old people, about a dying generation, about the past! In colorful, brilliant animation! And there's magic tricks!

Oh, I thought you were referring to the decent Edward Norton film from '06. I'm disappointed now.

The Guardian's little review of this film, and it has a very good point:

I'm a wee sad it's so far away, but am anxious too to see it in New York this December for its Christmas limited release.

That seemed to be a cute review of the Illusionist and if that is anything to judge the film by, I am definitely planning to go and see it when it comes!! Really liked the gist of the story about the aging magician and the young girl and I really liked the animation in the movie!! I am sure that it will be well liked for its animation and adaption and I am sure it will be a movie to look forward to!

I find it odd that this is the only movie that's actually coming out on Christmas. My mother decided that we should see a movie for Christmas, and after seeing the trailer to this movie, I said Mom. We have to see this movie. I'm a worried if I'll be able to find a theater that shows it, seeing how it's only a limited release.

I hope it makes the theater here! I recently watched the Triplets of Belleville again and enjoyed it quite a bit. Odd, idiosyncratic even, but fun at the same time.  I rather look forward to scrunching down in a seat with a big container of popcorn and munching my way my through The Illusionist.  I thought the thread was going to be about Ed Norton's 2006 flick, but this promises to be even better.

If someone here manages to see this, I hope they will let us know how it is. I have been hearing good things about this movie and I really want to see it, but I think that will be unlikely for a little while given the limited release. I absolutely love the Triplets of Belleville. I'm very curious about this latest effort!
