Title: Plagiarism?
Post by: Klonoa on December 28, 2015, 07:24:12 PM
I was on MAL looking up anime reviews when I noticed an account by the name of "Zahir456" that at the beginning of the review did a "HIGHLIGHTS" section, at first I thought it was just someone who did the same kind of style of review.

But I decided to see if you did a review on the same show (which is Ah my goddess btw), and I noticed you did, and it was the same review.

Idk if this guy is part of Nihon because I don't go on here much but his page is very undeveloped so I just want to put this out there if anyone wants to know about it because someone used your review and acted it like his own.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Upon checking his review section, he is by no means a writer for the site (current or past) had blatantly lifted from many writers on NHRV. I sent a report to the MAL admin, who should deal with the issue on their end.

Hahahahaha, he even stole one of my reviews.

Thanks for bringing it up, such blatant plagiarism is pretty absurd.

Yeah I've had this happen to me a couple times before (once in a youtube video). It's pretty frustrating to see dudes taking credit for what you wrote. Anyhow that guy hasn't been online for well over a month so he I don't think he'll mind much.

It wasn't even my best review, though admittedly I find most of my old stuff unreadable. The bizarre part was reading the feedback from other MAL users who assumed the material was original. More bizarre was sometime last year when my "people you may know" on Facebook included someone going by Kavik Ryx. That I had absolutely no idea how to react to.

Surprise! I told the guy to stop plagiarizing reviews from the Nihon Review and he deleted my comment. Seems like the powers that be have yet to act in that matter.

Lol, you know your stuff is worthwhile when people think it's good enough to steal.
