Secret Santas Spread Holiday Cheer

It’s that time of year again when many of us gain a few pounds from feasting far too much on delicious foods. It’s also a time to make merry, with increased time to watch anime as the year winds down and people find themselves taking a few days of much needed R&R. Well, at least, I hope you all get a chance to rest during the holidays!

Today we bring you two reviews as part of Reverse Thieve’s annual Secret Santa Project, in which participants are asked to watch an anime picked out by an anonymous anime blogger. First is Shinmaru’s examination of an almost forty year old title Kanashimi no Belladonna, which seems to be an overly artsy production loosely based on the story of Jeanne d’Arc. Second is Kaikyaku’s alternate take on what makes Shiki a good show. If you’re a fan of the epic drama Monster, you’ll probably also like Shiki’s way of handling its gigantic cast of characters.

Enjoy and have a wonderful winter holidays everyone!
