The Nihon Review - Anime Reviews & Editorials

Our one year anniversary

Well a few days ago anyway. 18th to be exact. But it’s been over a year since the inception of The Nihon Review. And it’s been a turbulent year to say the least. We’ve seen some great new reviewers join our staff, including dheu, Scoot and Pachinko, but we’ve also lost some very talented people, such as Taleweaver, Genkisakura and Kurier. We’ve opened up a new section with Live Action which has appeared to have been a positive move as the section continues to grow, but in exchange we’ve had to shut down a Games section that had unfortunately grown long stagnant. Our reader base has continued to expand, with our past five months each setting new records for number of visits in a month. Our number of page views per month has more than quadrupled between December 2005 and October 2006. We’ve transformed our site design (much thanks to Scoot for that) and are in the midsts of renovating our community. It really has been a time of immense growth and we have no intention of stopping now.

I’d like to take this oppurtunity to offer my thanks to our wonderful, dedicated staff for making this past year possible, as well as our loyal readers, who we hope enjoy and are served by our reviews. One year is behind us, but expect big things in the next.

Here’s two more reviews: Kimi wa Petto and GTO. Enjoy.
