I know of a film professor who asks his students to make their own cut of a bad movie and produce something decent. I really wish I were taking his class right now so that I’d have an excuse to edit the sloppy mass that is Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works.  There is a decent narrative in there… somewhere, but it needs extensive plastic surgery before it qualifies as just ugly.
