The Nihon Review - Anime Reviews & Editorials

Some things are much bigger than anime

The Queensland floods are currently devastating the state that I’ve grown up in and lived my whole life.  I, personally, was fortunately spared, but I know many friends and relatives who weren’t so lucky and are now facing an arduous and heart-breaking clean up.  My own neighbourhood is in a state of disarray: places that I walk past almost daily are nearly unrecognizable, and the water reached areas I never would have imagined in my wildest dreams.  There are fortunately a reasonable supply of keen volunteers on the ground, willing to give up their time, skill and goods to help victims.  What people will need into the future is cash, and this is where you can help.  If you have some spare change lying about, please consider donating to the Premier’s Flood Disaster Relief Appeal.  Any donation will certainly be appreciated.

A sneak peak at our revamped staff application is now available, in time for our annual staff contest, which will begin in a matter of days.  If you’re interested in taking part, be sure to check it out, so you can begin planning your entry.  Finally, we have two new anime reviews: Arakawa Under the Bridge × Bridge and The World God Only Knows.
