And now for something completely different… Tom Cruise, token Hollywood star of The Last Samurai, retains his popularity in at least one country! Apparently, October 6th has been declared Tom Cruise day in Japan (”Tomu no Hi,” literally “Tom Day”). This is the first Japanese holiday named after an American star. However, Tom’ll have to share the day. October 6th is also Snapping Turtle Day and Telephone Broadcast Day. GG Tom Cruise.
