This is an apt description of the two works in question.  The first, Denpa Teki na Kanojo, is really engaging and enjoyable, especially when Ryou Hirohashi does such an excellent job as the OVA’s female protagonist.  Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the quality of BECK – The Movie, which is another snag in the long chain of horrible live-action adaptations.
